Treaty Transcription Event

An event held at the Powassan Library on February 16th, starting at 6pm. We transcribed Land Rights Treaties using india ink, dip pens and linen paper that has been "aged" using walnut oil.

We copied treaties that included the lands around Powassan and lands that were of interest to all our participants. Our completed treaty facsimiles will be added to the Treaty Canoe Voyageur canoe (either papered to the outside of the canoe itself or bundled for inclusion as a part of the canoe's cargo). We also chatted about the project and tested out our "cursive" skills!
